Description

A small leather wristlet for the things you reach for every few rows: small scissors, a stitch marker, a darning needle. It slips over your wrist so nothing ends up under a cushion.

Vegetable-tanned leather that darkens beautifully, a brass snap, and a cotton lining that will not scratch a wooden needle. Available in sage, oatmeal and dusty blue.

Stitching failed at the handle after five weeks

One handle pulled away from the body of the product.coastal-wristlet.name after five weeks of normal use, carrying a 100g project and nothing else. Support replaced it under warranty without argument and the new one looks better finished, so this may have been a one-off — but I cannot recommend it on my first experience.

Arrived with a scuff on the base

The product.coastal-wristlet.name arrived quickly but with a visible scuff across the base and a small mark on the front panel. Support offered a partial refund straight away, which I appreciated, but for the price I expected the packaging to protect it better than a single layer of paper.

Lining is thinner than the photos suggest

The outside of the product.coastal-wristlet.name is sturdy and the stitching is neat. The inside lining, though, is a light cotton with no interlining, so pointy needle tips poke through if you are not careful. I added a felt insert myself and it is fine now.

Saved my back on a long flight

Ten hours to Tokyo with a sweater project in the product.coastal-wristlet.name at my feet. The handles are long enough to loop over the tray table arm and it stayed upright instead of tipping over every time I moved. Yarn stayed clean and untangled the whole way.

Wish the strap were detachable

No complaints about the product.coastal-wristlet.name itself — the stitching is even, the lining is soft, and it holds a surprising amount. I just wish the shoulder strap could be unclipped so I could use it as a plain basket on the sofa.

Questions & answers

Do you offer gift wrapping and can you leave the price off the packing slip?

Yes to both. Gift wrap is a paid option at checkout and packing slips never show prices. If you add a gift note we will hand-write it on our studio card and leave the slip out entirely.

Is the strap long enough to wear crossbody over a winter coat?

The shoulder strap adjusts from 78cm to 132cm, which we tested over a padded coat. If you are taller than about 190cm and want it fully crossbody, choose the crossbody style option rather than the tote handles.

How many crochet hooks fit, including the bulky ergonomic handles?

The fourteen-hook size fits 14 standard hooks up to 6mm, or 10 if you use chunky ergonomic handles because they are wider. The twenty-hook size is the one to choose for a full ergonomic set.

Is there a left-handed version?

Not yet, and we hear you. The hook roll slots are angled for right-handed use. A mirrored version is on our list for next year — add your email to the restock alert and we will tell you when it exists.

Pairs nicely with your next project.
