Description

A heavy stoneware yarn bowl, thrown by hand and glazed in a soft matte finish that will not snag a single ply. The spiral guide keeps a working yarn feeding smoothly, and the weight means it stays exactly where you put it.

Because every bowl is thrown individually, dimensions vary by a centimetre or so and the glaze pools differently on each one. This run is sold out while our potter prepares the next firing.

Nice object, wrong size for me

The product.clay-pot-yarn-bowl.name is well made, no argument there. But it is shallower than I expected and my interchangeable needle case does not fit upright, so it has to lie diagonally and takes up most of the space. Fine for a small project, frustrating for a big one.

Colour is a touch warmer than the photos

The sage on my screen looked cooler and greyer; in daylight the product.clay-pot-yarn-bowl.name is noticeably warmer. I still like it, and it does not clash with anything, but if you are matching a specific yarn you may want to ask for a real photo first.

A proper zipper, not a decorative one

The zip on the product.clay-pot-yarn-bowl.name runs on metal teeth and glides with one hand. I have had two cheaper bags where the zip split open in my rucksack and I lost half a sock. Not this one. It also has a small pull tab which is much easier with cold fingers.

Still waiting, three weeks later

Tracking has not moved since the day it was handed over and support could only tell me to wait longer. The product.clay-pot-yarn-bowl.name may well be lovely when it arrives, but I ordered it for a birthday and that has now passed. Two emails in and no usable answer.

Too small for anything but a hat

The listed capacity on the product.clay-pot-yarn-bowl.name is optimistic. With one 100g skein in it there is no room for my pattern folder, and the sides bulge so the zip becomes a two-hand job. If you knit sweaters, look at the larger size.

Questions & answers

How many crochet hooks fit, including the bulky ergonomic handles?

The fourteen-hook size fits 14 standard hooks up to 6mm, or 10 if you use chunky ergonomic handles because they are wider. The twenty-hook size is the one to choose for a full ergonomic set.

Is there a left-handed version?

Not yet, and we hear you. The hook roll slots are angled for right-handed use. A mirrored version is on our list for next year — add your email to the restock alert and we will tell you when it exists.

What happens if the size is wrong? Can I exchange it?

Thirty days from delivery, unused and in the original packaging, and we cover the return label for exchanges within the EU, UK, US and Canada. Start it from your account under Orders, or reply to your confirmation email and we will do it for you.
