Description

A compact project bag for taking a little making time wherever the weekend leads. The Weekend Project Bag holds one large project or two small ones, with a reinforced base so it sits upright on a café table or a train seat.

Choose a zip, snap or drawstring closure and a compact, standard or weekender size. Inside there is a slip pocket for a pattern and a short row of loops for your most-used needles.

Details
  • Three sizes: compact for socks, standard for a sweater, weekender for both.
  • Zip, snap or drawstring closure — pick the one that suits how you work.
  • Reinforced base keeps the bag upright while you knit from it.
  • Vegetable-tanned leather tab and brass hardware that ages honestly.

Still waiting, three weeks later

Tracking has not moved since the day it was handed over and support could only tell me to wait longer. The product.weekend-project-bag.name may well be lovely when it arrives, but I ordered it for a birthday and that has now passed. Two emails in and no usable answer.

Customs bill was more than the shipping estimate

The product.weekend-project-bag.name is fine and the delivery estimate was accurate, but the import charges to my country came to nearly a third of the order value on top. I understand that the checkout figure is an estimate, but it was a long way off and it has put me off ordering from abroad again.

Zipper pull came off in week two

The zip itself is fine but the leather pull worked loose and came off. Support sent a replacement pull within a few days and were genuinely helpful, so I am not angry about it — just noting that this is the one weak point on the product.weekend-project-bag.name.

Colour is a touch warmer than the photos

The sage on my screen looked cooler and greyer; in daylight the product.weekend-project-bag.name is noticeably warmer. I still like it, and it does not clash with anything, but if you are matching a specific yarn you may want to ask for a real photo first.

A proper zipper, not a decorative one

The zip on the product.weekend-project-bag.name runs on metal teeth and glides with one hand. I have had two cheaper bags where the zip split open in my rucksack and I lost half a sock. Not this one. It also has a small pull tab which is much easier with cold fingers.

Questions & answers

Will I be charged import duties on delivery for a US order?

Under the current US de minimis rules, orders below the threshold are not charged duty on arrival. Anything above it is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay — we do not hand you a surprise bill on the doorstep. The estimate on the product page is indicative only.

Do you offer gift wrapping and can you leave the price off the packing slip?

Yes to both. Gift wrap is a paid option at checkout and packing slips never show prices. If you add a gift note we will hand-write it on our studio card and leave the slip out entirely.

Is the strap long enough to wear crossbody over a winter coat?

The shoulder strap adjusts from 78cm to 132cm, which we tested over a padded coat. If you are taller than about 190cm and want it fully crossbody, choose the crossbody style option rather than the tote handles.

How many crochet hooks fit, including the bulky ergonomic handles?

The fourteen-hook size fits 14 standard hooks up to 6mm, or 10 if you use chunky ergonomic handles because they are wider. The twenty-hook size is the one to choose for a full ergonomic set.

Pairs nicely with your next project.
